ISTI promotes the growth of young researchers and the individuation of professional merit by means of initiatives to encourage the scientific production and to allow brilliant young staff members to visit major international scientific institutions.

ISTI has established four awards to help the career of its young researchers:

  • Young Researcher Award "Matteo Dellepiane" (YRA) – to honor young staff with high scientific production (two categories: Beginners and Advanced - 32 and 35 age limits);
  • Young Open Science Award (YOSA) – selection of best open software/datasets produced by young researchers at ISTI;
  • Grants for Young Mobility (GYM) - travel and accommodation grant to carry out research in cooperation with foreign Universities and Research Institutions of clear international standing (34 age limit);
  • "ProgettISTI" - for the presentation of short cross-lab project proposals.

These initiatives are funded through self-taxation of all research laboratories of the Institute.
