Face recognition is an appealing and challenging problem in many research fields. Several approaches have been proposed in literature to address this problem. Recently, the diffusion of computationally powered GPU and the availability of large quantity of data, have enabled the exploitation of machine learning techniques to address the problem of face recognition. In particular, Deep Convolutional Neural Networks have been successfully used in several application domains, like for example image understanding, classification tasks, speech recognition. This presentation will show a Deep Learning approach to the face recognition problem.
